At first I thought the speakers were defective but now it seems that they aren't. I would appreciate some info on these speakers. As well I was having problems with the system buzzing in unison with RPMs, I fixed that with a little noise filter on the power line. But now it buzzes when I turn the heater fan up.

When I've worked on televisions with the back removed, it seemed that most of this noise was coming from the yoke itself (deflection coil assembly) I can hear the tv on with no speakers from ringing/whine when i am 3 floors away. It gets very anoying. And yes all tvs (not flat) make this high pitch thing.

Why do I get backgound noise from soundcard?
It seems the take precedence over anything lse your computer's speakers are doing. I hate it when I'm listening to a good song, and the anoying incoming e-mail noise cuts in. Hmm, I must remember to take my machine home and let the EC hack it into submission for me... Cerval Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

Also one thing to note is when watching TV in a small room with a limit on the noise you can make, any noise f rom the computer fans (psu, cpu etc..) becomes very aparent and anoying. The nebula card does include a remote however at the moment this can not be made to work dvd playback software. Jaime.

Relentless Demo and PAS16 problems
Following up on this discovery, I unplugged everything from the hdph/spkr jack to make sure I'd still get sound out of the onboard speakers, and I do. Hmm. Interessting. This raises a new possibility: The toggle-sound circuitry may be broken and injecting the noise now instead of nothing or the anoying loud toggle

A better suggestion to solve the problem is to use headphones, no echo problem if the mic can't hear the speakers, and you get all of the benefits of full duplex. In Netmeeting if you're getting the anoying delayed echo of your voice, thats not your fault, ask the user at the other end to go to half duplex or use

2) The sound card line-out and speaker-out makes lot of noise. An WAV or CD sound that reaches the highest level makes a strange noise, like scraching the speaker, wich we think is very anoying. The other sound card we have (the most cheat we could find) is more than 2 years old and doesn't make this noise.
